Description of Agency/Activities: The Senior Center provides social,
recreational, educational, nutritional, health services to ambulatory
older adults, particularly those who are Hispanic, in order to increase
their social integration, decrease their isolation in the community, and
facilitate access to community resources. Programming components

Unique Features of the Agency: This is a great opportunity to
practice the Spanish language and to learn about the diversity of Latino
culture in the context of an aging population.
Commitment: 2 - 3 hours per week throughout the semester.
Since Service Learners will be working directly with UCC clients, it is required that volunteers be outgoing and personable, show initiative, and enjoy interacting with clients of all ages. They need to own their placement and work to make it a good fit by sharing feedback and being proactive.
