Site Orientations

Helpful Hints

• Be sure that you can attend the site orientation. Some agencies have one set orientation, others have several options of when you can attend.
• At the orientation, you will meet the site contact person, and go over the service opportunities, as well as agency rules and expectations.
• Some agencies may also include training sessions.
• Find out what your professor's learning objectives are before you attend, so you can be clear on what types of service experiences you should be involved in.
• If it seems like you will not be getting opportunities that apply to your course, be assertive and let the contact person know.
• Bring your Service Learning Contract to orientation so you will be able to get the site contact's signature.
• Remember to inform the site contact when you will not be there for service due to holidays and vacation times, and also let him/her know when your last day of service will be.
