A personally owned vehicle on university property with a concealed weapon must be locked at all times when the operator is not present in the vehicle. Unloaded ammunition on university property is not permitted. Parkers may not imply possession of, threaten to use, display, brandish, use, or discharge a weapon for any purpose or reason except lawful self-defense or lawful defense of others. Parkers are required to report timely to the university's Department of Public Safety the presence in vehicles on university property of a weapon in violation of university policy, unless doing so would subject the person or others to the threat of physical harm.
Parkers are prohibited from taking other action in response to the presence of a weapon in violation of university policy in a vehicle or in university parking structures or surface parking lots except for reporting the presence of the weapon to the university's Department of Public Safety. Parkers are expected to be familiar with the policy. Violations of these requirements may subject parkers to revocation of university parking privileges, in lieu of or in addition to any other consequences as a result of other elements of the university’s weapons policy.
