On August 1, the Rev. Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., became Marquette’s 23rd university president. All alumni are invited to join in the Inauguration celebration, Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22 and 23. Benjamin Marvin Ribbich

Joseph Ribbich, Eng ’07, and Shannon (O'Brien) Ribbich, Nurs ’08, welcomed their first child, Benjamin Marvin, on May 1, 2011. Benjamin weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Ralph TeaseRalph Tease, Jr., Law ’81, has been selected to the Wisconsin Super Lawyers and 100 Top Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has also been selected as one of the top 25 plaintiff lawyers by the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Kristin Stoniecki

LTJG Kristin Stoniecki, Nurs ’07, was recognized as one of the top labor and delivery nurses in the Navy. She was also quoted in an article about the Nurse Corps' work to help the Japanese recover from recent natural disasters during Operation Tomodachi.

The College of Business Administration's undergraduate supply chain management program has been ranked as the 14th best of its kind in the country. Learn more.  

Professor helps develop new military technology
Charles Wilkie, professor emeritus of chemistry, led a team that developed a high-strength coating that can protect buildings against explosions. The technology is in the final stages of testing and is expected to be ready for military use in the upcoming year. Learn more.   

Professor wins award for biography

Theology professor Patrick Carey was honored with the award for best published book from the College Theology Society for his biography of Avery Cardinal Dulles. Learn more.

Three compete for mayoral seat

Three Marquette alumni are candidates in the upcoming mayoral election in Phoenix, Ariz. – Anna Brennan, Nurs ’81; Greg Stanton, Arts ’92; and Jennifer Wright, Bus Ad ’96. The primary will be held Aug. 30.

Students' design could help storm-water practices

Three Marquette engineering students, led by Clifford Crandall, associate professor of engineering, designed a proposal for storm-water management to help address storm runoff issues. Story appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
