Mission Week 2015

Mission Week 2015

From Feb. 1-6, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Marquette will reflect on our university's Catholic, Jesuit mission with Mission Week, a time to recall our larger purpose and the Ignatian spirituality that guides us.

Through our theme, "Who Cares? Charity, Justice and the Quest for the Common Good," we will reflect on how we can be compassionate in responding to the needs of our sisters and brothers locally and internationally. Learn more about Mission Week 2015.

A new year reflection
New Year Reflection The beginning of a New Year gives us the opportunity to look back on where we have been. We can thank God for our success of the last year. We can examine the challenges we faced. We celebrate the many things that went right. Hopefully, we learn from our mistakes. It is an opportunity to thank the Lord for the many blessings we have received.

We thank God for the new people who entered our lives. We remember those who are no longer with us. We ask God to bless all that we will do in the New Year and especially to bless Marquette. May we all live out the themes to be: Ignited in Faith; Alive in Inquiry; Forward in Service.

We ask God on these cold winter mornings to look favorably on those who are less fortunate than ourselves: the homeless, the hungry, the lonely.

May the love for the Child Jesus born on Christmas continue to light your way and warm your heart in 2015.

Frederick Zagone, S.J.
Chaplain, Marquette University Alumni Association
