Dr. Gail Schumann
Department of Biological Sciences
Dr. Schumann is an adjunct professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. She was a professor at the Univ. of Massachusetts Amherst as a plant pathologist- someone who studies plant diseases- for more than 20 years. She enjoys teaching both biology majors and non-science students, and particularly enjoys helping liberal arts students learn about biology because she believes that society needs the input of people with a variety of backgrounds as we make decisions about genetic engineering, global warming, and other issues. In her free time, she is a hopeless tourist- always looking for interesting places, especially if she might see some birds or mushrooms along the way.
