The paint shop is responsible for maintaining the painted surfaces within buildings and on building exteriors. These routine services are generally not charged to the requesting departments:
- Painting of building interiors and exteriors
- Hanging of vinyl wall coverings and their repair
- Removal of graffiti
- Gymnasium floor refinishing and other hardwood

Request for services beyond the scope of those routinely provided will, upon request, be arranged by the Department of Facilities Services and funded by the requesting department. Examples include:
- Refinishing furniture
- Wall painting/vinyl/replacement for color change reasons only
