Marquette University works with an outside plan administrator, UnitedHealthcare, to offer graduate students health insurance. Certain Marquette University graduate assistants and fellows, including some recipients of grant funding, will be eligible to have some, or all, of the basic premium paid by Marquette University. Specifically:
Full Assistantship Recipients: Graduate students who receive full assistantships (defined as 18-credit per year tuition scholarships with minimum stipends of $13,200) who have also received award offers stating they are eligible for university-paid health insurance, qualify to have their entire annual premium paid by the university.
Full Fellowship Recipients: Graduate students who receive full graduate fellowships (defined as 18-credit per year tuition scholarships or their equivalent in continuing enrollment fees, with minimum stipends of $13,200), who have also received award offers stating they are eligible for university-paid health insurance, qualify to have
their entire annual premium paid by the university.
Less Than Full Assistantship Recipients: Graduate students who receive at least a half-assistantship, but less than a full assistantship (defined as a minimum 9-credit per year tuition scholarship with a minimum stipend of $6,600) who have also received award offers stating they are eligible for university-paid health insurance will be
eligible to have one-half of their annual premium paid by the university, when they pay the other half.
