PARENTS
In addition to the extensive information found elsewhere on our website, The Center for Health Education and Promotion has compiled the following health education resources for the parents of incoming and current students. Please contact us if you have any questions on these resources.
MARQUETTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS RESOURCES:
ALCOHOL EDU
As part of Marquette’s proactive approach to help ensure that students stay safe and healthy, the university is asking each first-year and transfer student to complete AlcoholEdu for College, an online alcohol education and prevention program.
AlcoholEdu uses science-based research and interactive strategies, including personalized feedback, to educate students about alcohol and its effects. Whether you drink or not, the course can empower you to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help better manage drinking behavior – your own, and/or that which may happen around you.
All responses are strictly confidential; Marquette University staff members will receive information only about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students' answers. You can feel confident that providing truthful answers -- no matter what they are -- will not put you at any risk of repercussions.
Parents/Guardians:
Your involvement in our ongoing alcohol education and prevention initiatives is greatly welcomed! Students are required to complete AlcoholEdu before arriving on campus in order to help them make well-informed decisions as they transition to Marquette. We encourage you to take AlcoholEdu as well (available after July 30, 2007) and talk with your students about what they have learned and how they will use this information in the future.
