Office Assistant

Jessica graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Communication Studies. While an undergrad at the U of M, she worked as a Health Advocate, providing health education programming and first aid services to students in the residence halls. Her experience as a Health Advocate sparked an interest in health communications, and working with college student populations. Jessica brought these interests to Marquette University in the fall of 2005, where she continues to work as the Office Assistant in the Center for Health Education & Promotion.

Stephanie Navarre

Preceptee

Stephanie joined the Center for Health Education and Promotion as a Preceptee for the Fall 2009 semester. She is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, working towards a B.S. in Community Health Education and a minor in Sociology. At La Crosse, Stephanie was involved with Student Alumni Ambassadors, Residence Life, Student Association, Undergraduate Research, and Eta Sigma Gamma (the National Health Education Honorary). In addition, she also worked for the La Crosse YMCA, and volunteered with the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. Through her involvement with these organizations, Stephanie has developed skills in: sexual health education and promotion, fitness/physical wellness, leadership development, fundraising, advocacy, and creating community collaborations.

Stephanie will sit for the Community Health Education Specialist Exam (CHES) in October 2009, and graduate from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in December 2009. Although she is interested in many different sectors of health education, Stephanie would like to primarily work with the college population, after graduation.
