Independent study classes provide the opportunity to study and investigate areas of interest not available through normal class offerings.

To register for an independent study class, you must complete an Approval for Independent Study form. You must submit the completed form with the necessary signatures to the college/school office of the college/school offering the course.

The college/school office will approve the course and forward the form to the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar will register you for the independent study class upon receipt of the completed approval form.

Consult with your instructor regarding the specific title, number of units, term and session of the class before completing the Approval Form and submitting it for signatures.
