Brief Statement of Scholarly Interests
The relationship among the design of work for RNs, unit/organizational culture and the quality and cost of patient care; the impact of changes in nursing care delivery on RN professional practice environment and job satisfaction; the relationship among managerial nurses' leadership behaviors, nursing unit tasks, unit structure, and RN job satisfaction; factors related to the retention of RNs. I am also interested in how low- to high-tech simulations can prepare a nursing workforce for the delivery of safe patient care in this time of rising patient acuity levels across all health care settings.
