I received my PhD from the University of Florida in May 2009. My doctoral dissertation is on Aristotelian naturalism. My teaching and research interests are chiefly in ethical theory. Specifically, I am interested in issues pertaining to moral psychology and motivation in both Kantian and Aristotelian ethical theory. I am also interested in the implications of ethics for political theory, as I believe that one cannot consider ethical issues without eventually being led to examine the implications of these considerations for life within a wider political community.
I have also been practicing and teaching yoga for a few years. I feel that yoga practice provides a powerful tool to help me internalize and put into practice many insights I have obtained from my ethical ponderings, leading to greater harmony between my intellectual and practical lives.
