Owen Goldin (Ph.D., Philosophy, 1987) has written mostly on ancient philosophy. He is the author of Explaining an Eclipse: Aristotle’s Posterior Analytics 2 8-10 (University of Michigan Press, 1996) and a number of articles on the presocratics, Plato, Aristotle, and Hellenistic philosophers. He has also published in the areas of Jewish philosophy, environmental philosophy, and social philosophy. He is currently translating and writing on Philoponus’ commentary on the Posterior Analytics, a project for which he received a 2006 NEH Summer Stipend.
He often leads graduate classes in ancient philosophy, and has taught a wide variety of classes at the undergraduate level.
