Assistant Professor

I came to Marquette in 2003 after finishing my Ph.D. at the New School for Social Research in New York City. I am currently an adjunct member of the department and rector of the Jesuit community at Marquette University. My area of interest is in classical American pragmatism and contemporary neo-pragmatism. I have published articles on James, Dewey, Rorty, and Sellars in journals such as The Modern Schoolman, International Philosophical Quarterly, and Auslegung. The I have a forthcoming article on Pragmatism and Polytheism which will be published by the American Journal of Theology and Philosophy.

I have taught courses on Human Nature, Ethics, Philosophy of God, and American Philosophy to undergraduates, as well as a course in American Philosophy to graduate students.
