Owen Goldin (Ph.D., Philosophy, 1987) has written mostly on ancient philosophy. He is the author of Explaining an Eclipse: Aristotle's Posterior Analytics 2 8-10 (University of Michigan Press, 1996), a translation with notes of a commentary on the second book of Aristotle's Posterior Analytics 2, attributed to Philoponus, and a number of articles on the presocratics, Plato, Aristotle, and Hellenistic philosophers. He has also published in the areas of Jewish philosophy, environmental philosophy, and social philosophy. He is currently at work on another volume of Philoponus' APo. commentary and a book on Aristotle's De Caelo. He often leads graduate classes in ancient philosophy, and has taught a wide variety of classes at the undergraduate level.
