Prof. LeBlanc to Retire after 42 Years at Marquette

The Department regrets to announce that Prof. Lawrence LeBlanc will retire at the end of the Spring 2011 semester. Prof. LeBlanc has given 42 years of service to the Department of Political Science and Marquette University. Renowned for his expertise on human rights and the United Nations, he is a recipient of the Rev. John P. Raynor Award for Teaching Excellence, has served multiple terms as chair of the Political Science Department, served as Fulbright Professor in Leiden and Kuala Lumpur, taken many hundreds of students to New York for short courses on the United Nations, and taught courses such as International Organization and International Law that have some of the highest enrollments of any upper-division courses offered by our department. Larry LeBlanc will be missed. Plans for a reception to honor his long and distinguished career at Marquette will be announced early in the coming semester.
