**Option for both Service Learning and NOYCE students**

Transportation: By Bus: Take the #30 bus west to 35th Street, and transfer to the #35 bus heading south towards Howard Avenue. Get off on 35th Street and Mitchell, and walk east to 32nd Street.

By Car: Drive west on Wisconsin Ave. and turn left onto 27th Street (which becomes Layton Blvd.). Turn right at Mitchell Street, then left onto 32nd Street.

Approximate Travel Time By Car: 11 minutes

Mandatory Orientation: (4 options)

Wednesday, February 3rd from 9-10:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m. –OR- Thursday, February 4th from 9 – 10:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m.

**Specific instructions for orientation:  All service learners MUST attend one of our orientations prior to volunteering. If you cannot, you will have to choose a different site. Orientation will take place at UCC’s main campus: 1028 S. 9th St.

Days/Hours of Service:Tuesday 3:30-5:30 p.m. (2 slots), or Wednesday 3:30-5:30 p.m. (2 slots)

Description of Agency: Carmen High School is a charter high school offering a focus on science and technology. Additionally, students are encouraged to participate in 40 hours of community service each year.

Student Role in Agency: Service Learners will be tutoring high school students in Math, Science, and Language Arts.

Commitment: Mandatory orientation and 2-4 hours a week.
