Days/Hours of operation: Students can find out specific days and times for service learning during the Service Learning Sign-Up Night. Students traditionally have done service learning between Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Click on this PDF for volunteer times.

Description of Agency/Activities:  The New School for Community Service is an innovative citywide MPS high school serving 160 11th and 12th grade students.  We are the only Milwaukee Public School offering community-based learning internships as the core of our program. 

Student Role at Agency: Service Learners will be responsible for the following tasks: handle skill-based tutoring in a classroom setting, excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, energetic and confident personality, applicants should be comfortable working one-on-one with students, teach students needing help individually or in small groups, support students to develop and meet academic goals, help students to prepare for tests, ,meet with the instructor(s) of the course(s) you are tutoring and discuss your role as a tutor and obtain any information that will assist you to effectively tutor.
