By Bus: (20 minutes) Take the #10 west to Hawley Ct. At Hawley, transfer to the #64 going south. Take that about eight blocks and get off at the 200 block of S. Hawley Court.

By Car: (7 minutes) Located directly off I-94, west of Miller Park Stadium; exit Hawley Rd. south.

Days/Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Days/Hours of Volunteering: Students can find out specific days and times for service learning during the Service Learning Sign-Up Night.

Description of Agency/Activities: Hunger Task Force, Inc. is a private nonprofit community organization that exists to prevent and alleviate hunger. Hunger Task Force provides support for hunger-relief organizations, promotes sound social policy, and assists with community and economic development initiatives related to food security. The organization promotes the idea that all people should have dignifies access to food obtained through normal means.

The advocacy work of Hunger Task Force seeks to bring about positive changes in social programs and public policies that exist to help the needy, and improve normal access to food and ultimately reduce the need for charity. This advocacy approach is multidimensional. At a grassroots level, the agency organizes community members concerned about hunger through the advocacy group, Voices Against Hunger. Hunger Task Force also educates the general public about hunger and its root causes through educational programming and the hunger simulation, Food for Today. It also works to bring about legislative change and influence decision-makers on key issues related to public policies and programs aimed at alleviating hunger.

Student Role in Agency: Students will assist and advance the mission of Hunger Task Force based on service learner interests. Students can choose to work in the following areas: Sorting Food, Warehouse, Farm, Building Stockboxes, or Fresh Picks Mobile Market. Refer to the Hunger Task Force website for job descriptions. Read below for special sign-up procedures for Hunger Task Force:

Step 1: Once you have read the job descriptions and made a decision about where you would like to serve, complete the online individual volunteer application. Complete the online application BEFORE the Service Learning Sign-Up Night. You should also register for the Service Learning Sign-Up Night to reserve your spot, just in case your application is not approved.

Step 2: After completing the application it will take 7-10 days for your application to be approved. Once approved, you will then receive an email stating you have been approved and you are now entered into Hunger Task Force's volunteer database. Bring your confirmation (the email stating that you are approved) to the Service Learning Sign-Up Night or the Service Learning Program Office to complete necessary Service Learning Program paperwork. If the Service Learning Office does not receive this confirmation, your service hours will not count.

Step 3: Reach out to Raeanna Johnson to reserve your spot in (Sorting Food, Warehouse, Farm, Building Stockboxes, or Fresh Picks Mobile Market). Completing the volunteer application does not reserve your spot. You must contact Raeanna Johnson to reserve your spot.
