Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Course

Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) course allows students to earn credit while engaging in hands-on, community-oriented learning. Students prepare income tax returns for free on behalf of people with incomes below a certain level in the two months leading up to the April 15 tax filing deadline and write a reflection paper on their experience. The program is a partnership with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), and students

either meet with clients over the phone or answer questions in person at MATC’s Oak Creek location.

More information about the VITA site is available at: https://www.matc.edu/events/recurring/matc-tax-clinic.html
