2022 Residential Real Estate Summit

Supply, Demand and Other Adventures in Housing Economics in 2022

The 10th annual Wisconsin Residential Real Estate Symposium was held live and in-person on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. More than 125 people attended the event at the Italian Community Center, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Frank Nothaft, Executive and Chief Economist with CoreLogic, one of the nation’s premier housing data companies. A widely regarded and lauded speaker, Dr. Nothaft did not disappoint, focusing his discussion on supply and demand dynamics and challenges in our housing market in the next five years.

Prior to the keynote the audience enjoyed short presentations on several fascinating topics:

  • Tom Larson, executive vice president of legal and public affairs for the Wisconsin REALTORS Association, detailing important work being done at the state capitol to support the housing industry
  • Dr. David Clark, professor of economics and executive associate dean for the College of Business Administration at Marquette, providing updated market statistics and information in real-time
  • Dr. Anthony Pennington-Cross, Robert B. Bell, Sr. Chair in Real Estate and Professor of Finance, discussing some interesting research into Airbnb in Wisconsin, and specifically impacts on liquidity, crime, and home values
