Recurring Programming

Trans and Gender-Diverse Support & Discussion Group

Day/Time: Tuesday(s), 5pm
Set Dates: Sept.: 5, 12, 19; Oct.: 3, 17, 31; Nov.: 14, 28; Dec.: 5
Location: LGBTQ+ Resource Center, AMU 140
This group will provide a space for folx who identify as Trans (Binary or Non-Binary), do not align with the gender assigned at birth, and/or are otherwise gender non-conforming. This space is open and welcome to those that are also questioning or navigating their gender and need a safe and brave space to discuss and get support from fellow students. This space will allow for organic discussion, but will have present the Coordinator for the LGBTQ+ Resource Center to help facilitate conversation.

LGBQ+ (Orientation/Attraction) Support & Discussion Group

Day/Time: Wednesday(s), 5pm
Set Dates: Sept.: 6, 13, 20; Oct.: 4, 18; Nov.: 1, 15, 29; Dec.: 6
Location: LGBTQ+ Resource Center, AMU 140
This group will provide an inclusive space for folx who fall anywhere on the non-straight identity/orientation spectrum, hold same-gender attraction(s), and open to any individuals on the grey/ace (asexual/aromantic) spectrum. Additionally, this space is open and welcoming to those that are also questioning their orientation or attraction(s) and need a safe and brave space to discuss and get support from fellow students. This space will allow for organic discussion, but will have present the Coordinator for the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and a Counseling Staff member to help facilitate conversation. Counseling staff are not primarily serving as counselors but will be available should a student need someone to engage with for debrief.

LGBTQ+ and Allies Community Lunch(es), NEW Fall 2017

Time: Noon-1pm
Set Dates: September 12th, October 5th, November 14
Location: LGBTQ+ Resource Center, AMU 140
These lunches have the intention for everyone on Marquette's campus and beyond to engage in topics around identity, social justice, and delving deeper into how we are called to be "engaged citizens for and with others". We will offer a free lunch for folx and discussion around a multitude of LGBTQIA+ related topics.

TQPOC Social(s), NEW Fall 2017

Time: 5:30-7pm
Set Dates: September 14th, November 30th
Location: LGBTQ+ Resource Center, AMU 140
These socials will provide a space for our Trans and Queer People of Color - students, faculty, and staff - to engage with one another in a safe and inclusive space dedicated for folx with these identities.
