The vision of Intercultural Engagement is to foster a diverse and inclusive environment where all students can engage in meaningful relationships across differences with other students, faculty, and staff. We aim to support the understanding of and appreciation for diversity, and empower students to be critical thinkers and graduate as leaders who effect positive change towards a more just society.
Intercultural Engagement exists to provide opportunities for all students to develop as leaders who explore, understand and engage with areas of diversity and social justice.
Additionally, we provide support and advocacy for students from historically underrepresented communities (including but not limited to students from underrepresented racial, ethnic and religious communities, students in the LGBTQ and Ally communities and first generation college students) to succeed academically and socially.
Intercultural Engagement will strive to achieve our vision and fulfill our purpose by developing programs and opportunities through the following core initiatives:
The Intercultural Engagement staff consists of students and administrators with a background and a passion for diversity and social justice education. Read some fun facts about us, and be sure to stop by our office or the Center for Intercultural Engagement to say hello.
Intercultural Engagement is committed to continued improvements, both in our programs and our interactions with students. We value any and all input from the campus community and make intentional efforts to use the feedback when planning for the future. We appreciate your honesty and look forward to working together to improve intercultural engagement.
