Darrell Dobbs came to Marquette in 1987, having taught at Tufts, Emory, and the University of Houston. He was voted tenure the following year and subsequently promoted to the rank of full professor. His teaching and research focus on the great philosophical and literary works of western civilization. darrell.dobbs@mu.edu
Professor Dobbs has received numerous academic awards, including fellowships and grants from the Mellon Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Earhart Foundation, and the Bradley Institute for the Study of Democracy and Public Values. He is currently associate editor of the American Journal of Political Science.
