Join us for this fun, FREE, family-friendly exploration of the Toward the Texture of Knowing exhibition which presents a slow and intentional examination of everyday points of contact—encounters with people, with emotion, with time, and with the world—as sites of curiosity and impact.

Explore the Toward the Texture of Knowing exhibition which presents a slow and intentional examination of everyday points of contact—encounters with people, with emotion, with time, and with the world—as sites of curiosity and impact.

Our partners include the Sixteenth Street Community Health CentersGrand Ave ClubGrowing MindsACLUTeresa Buss, Art Therapist at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy; NextGen America; MU Counseling Center; and UWM ArtsECO.

Presentations and activities include:

- Learn about mindfulness practices through delicious tasting and smelling experiences with Growing Minds. Discover how food and smells affects one's body, feelings, memories, and all that is around us.

- Challenge yourself to connect with art in new ways this Spring by making a mandala in the gallery.

- Create a community paper quilt exploring the “texture of our community” with the ACLU.

- Discover how art can be used to explore & express emotions, improve self-esteem and relieve stress in academic settings with the support of a school art therapist and art educator.
