Placement for French, German, and Spanish

FREN 1001, GERM 1001, SPAN 1001

Student was placed in 1001 by the WebCAPE placement test and has studied less than 2 years of the language in high school. Student would receive a score on the placement test within the following range:

• French: below 280
  
• German: below 300
• Spanish: below 220
  

NOTE: If the student has had 2 years or more of the language in high school, he or she must register for 1003 (even if placed in 001 by the WebCAPE placement test).

SPAN 1003

Student was placed in SPAN 1003 by the WebCAPE placement test or has studied 2 years or more of the language in high school (even if placed in 1 by the WebCAPE placement test). Student would receive a score on the placement test within the following range:

• Spanish: 221-300

FREN 2001, GERM 2001, SPAN 2001

Student was placed in 2001 by the WebCAPE placement test. Student would receive a score on the placement test within the following range:

• French: 281-400
  
• German: 301-440
  
• Spanish: 301-425

FREN 2003,* GERM 2003,* SPAN 2003*

Student was placed in 2003 by the WebCAPE placement test. Student would receive a score on the placement test within the following range:

• French: 401-550
  
• German: 441-550
  
• Spanish: 426-550

FREN 3001,* GERM 3001,* SPAN 3001*

Student was placed in 3001 by the WebCAPE placement test. Student would receive a score on the placement test within the following range:

• French: Above 551
  
• German: Above 551
  
• Spanish: Above 551
