History: Founded in the future Czech Republic, 1853, the Notre Dame Sisters made their first U.S. foundation, 1910. From its Motherhouse (Omaha, Nebraska), their United States Province has collaborated in the administration of Our Lady of Lourdes Mission and School (Oglala Lakota), Pine Ridge Reservation, Porcupine, South Dakota, 1937-ongoing.
