History: The Diocese of Wilmington was erected from territory in the Diocese of Philadelphia (Delaware) and Archdiocese of Baltimore (Maryland), 1868. It has evangelized Native Americans, 1990s-present.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Bear, has administered the Native American Ministry

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parishioners founded and have maintained the Journey of the Bear Kateri Circle (Tekakwitha Conference local chapter)
