History: Mater Dei Church, Topeka, has been administered by Kansas City in Kansas archdiocesan priests and has had Kickapoo and Potawatomi Indian parishioners, 2006-present. The parish was formed by the merger of two parishes, one of which was Assumption Church, North Topeka, that had Kickapoo and Potawatomi Indian parishioners, 1970s-2006.
