History: Founded in Italy by St. Gaspar de Bufalo, 1815, the Society of the Precious Blood (also known as the Missionaries of the Precious Blood), made its first U.S. foundation in Cincinnati, Ohio, 1844. Later, missionaries from its Kansas City Province administered a mission, parish, and station in Oklahoma, which served some Cherokee Indian parishioners:
