History: Founded in San Francisco, 1872, the Sisters of the Holy Family of Mission San José District self-identify with the post-nominal initials, “S.H.F.” They taught and evangelized Native American (e.g. Navajo, Paiute, Washo) students at the following school and parish:

Stewart Government Indian School, Carson City, Nevada

1945-1966

Corpus Christi Church, Carson City, Nevada
