History: The Sisters of the Third Order of Penance of St. Dominic self-identified with the post-nominal initials, "O.P." and made their first U.S. foundation, 1925. That became the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province (Kettle Falls, Washington), which was succeeded by the Dominican Sisters of Spokane (Spokane, Washington), 1986. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Province administered St. Mary School (Colville), Colville Reservation, Washington, 1940s-1970s.
