History: The Conventuals (a.k.a. Order of Franciscans Minor Conventual) are a Franciscan branch that self-identifies with the post-nominal initials, “O.F.M. Conv.” They made their first U.S. foundation in Texas, 1852, and they formed Our Lady of Consolation Province for the Midwest and Southwest, 1947, which has administered the following Native American parishes in New Mexico and Texas.
