History: St. Mary Church has been a predominantly non-Native American parish in the Diocese of New Ulm (Archives: New Ulm, Minnesota). Previously, St. Paul arch/diocesan priests at St. Mary’s had attended to Lake Traverse Reservation station (Sisseton and Wahpeton), South Dakota, 1886-ca. 1890.
