History: The St. Michael – St. Joseph Catholic Community, comprised of St. Michael Church, Mahnomen, and St. Joseph Church, Beaulieu, Mahnomen County, Minnesota, has been a predominantly non-Native American parish cluster in the Diocese of Crookston (Archives: Crookston, Minnesota).

Description: Because diocesan priests no longer reside at St. Joseph Church, most sacramental and historical records have been transferred to St. Michael Church, Mahnomen. However, some records remained at St. Joseph's. These records are described by record type, since they were not organized according to a classification scheme when reviewed by a Marquette University archivist, 1980.
