The Spanish began to settle Santa Cruz de la Cañada while many local Tewa Indians moved to First Mesa in the Hopi Pueblo Nation

Franciscans (Santa Cruz College) (Archives: Puebla, Mexico) established and administered Santa Cruz de la Cañada Church (Mestizos)

1840s-1850

Durango diocesan priests (Archives: Durango, Mexico) administered Santa Cruz

1859-1920

Santa Fe arch/diocesan priests administered Santa Cruz

1920-present

Sons of the Holy Family (Archives: Silver Spring, Maryland) have administered Santa Cruz
