History: Immaculate Conception Church, Tomé, Valencia County, New Mexico, has been a mixed parish of Native American (e.g. Genízaro, Mestizos) and non-Native American ancestry in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe (Archives: Santa Fe, New Mexico).

1599-1680 (closed)

Franciscans (Santo Evangelico Province) (Archives: Puebla, Mexico) established and administered Immaculate Conception Mission, Tomé

1680

During the Pueblo Revolt, Piro Indians escorted Spanish forces from Tomé to El Paso del Norte, Texas; thereafter, Apache Indians and others killed the remaining Piro Indian residents

1739-1840s

Settlers from Albuquerque reestablished Tomé with the original church building restored, but rededicated as San Miguel de Socorro Church; Franciscans administered the parish

1864-present

Santa Fe arch/diocesan priests re-established and have administered San Miguel
