History: Founded in France, 1854, the Sisters of the Holy Humility of Mary (a.k.a. Sisters of the Humility of Mary) self-identified with the post-nominal initials, “H.M.” They made their first U.S. foundation, 1864, and staffed Our Lady of Lourdes School (Oglala Lakota), Porcupine, Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota, 1931-1937.
