History: St. Bernard Church has been a predominantly non-Native American parish on the Standing Rock Reservation, from which Benedictines (St. Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, Indiana) had attended the following Hunkpapa Lakota Indian missions on the Standing Rock Reservation:

1918-1926 (became a parish)
