History: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Martin, Bennett County, South Dakota, and Our Lady of Victory Church, Kadoka, Jackson County, South Dakota, have been predominantly non-Native American parishes in the Diocese of Rapid City (Archives: Rapid City, South Dakota). Our Lady of the Sacred Heart has had some Native American Oglala Lakota) parishioners, and Rapid City diocesan priests at Sacred Heart, had attended to the following Native American (Oglala Lakota) missions in South Dakota:

1919-1926 (transferred to Holy Rosary, Pine Ridge) 

St. Joseph Mission, Bear Creek, Bennett County

1919-1931 (transferred to Holy Rosary, Pine Ridge)

Plenty Bears Camp station, Bennett County

1919-1969 (closed)

Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Lacreek, Bennett County
