Simon and Jude Church has been a predominantly non-Native American parish, from which – diocesan priests attended to students at the Flandreau Government Indian School (Dakota-Lakota, others), 1893-1961. Thereafter, Benedictines (Blue Cloud Abbey, Marvin, South Dakota) assumed this responsibility.
