NEWS FOR PARENTS
Online parents chat, Feb. 27
Staff members from around Marquette will host an online chat for parents Wednesday, Feb. 27, between noon and 1 p.m. CST. Participants will be available to answer questions about academic advising, housing selection and spring break, all which will occur shortly after the online chat. Staff will also be prepared to answer questions about academic support, relationships with roommates and friends, safety, student involvement, student employment, health, and financial aid.
Register for the chat online to receive an email reminder about the event. Transcripts from past chats are available online.
Career and internship fair, Feb. 21
Marquette University is again hosting the WorkForce Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Last year, 142 employers participated in the event, which is organized by Wisconsin's 23 private and independent colleges. Students do not need to register for the career fair but are encouraged to review tips on how to make the most out of attending.

Residence halls close March 9 for Spring Break
Residence halls close for Spring Break at noon, Saturday, March 9, and reopen at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. Residence halls do not close for Easter break.
FAFSA deadline reminder
Marquette students must complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year to be considered for assistance. The Office of Student Financial Aid recommends having the FAFSA filed and submitted no later than Feb. 15 so it can be processed and sent to Marquette by the March 1 Priority Deadline. You and your student will need your own federal PIN to electronically sign the FAFSA, which is completed and submitted online. You can apply for a federal PIN or request a duplicate online.
If the FAFSA is received by Marquette after the March 1 priority deadline, financial aid could be reduced or eliminated due to limited funding. Any required documents must also be submitted to Marquette Central within 30 days of the student's initial request for missing documents. Missing documents are listed on Checkmarq. Questions can be directed to Marquette Central, (414) 288-4000.
MARQUETTE EVENTS
On Saturday, March 2, Marquette fans across the country and globe will cheer on the Marquette men's basketball team as they take on Notre Dame for National Marquette Day. Join other Marquette parents, alumni and friends at one of the more than 50 viewing parties, or volunteer to organize a viewing party in your area.
The Residence Hall Association is eagerly preparing for Lil' Siblings Weekend 2013, April 19-21. Registration will be available in early February. Additional information will be provided in future e-newsletters.
