Just weeks after Mayor Tom Barrett urged the Milwaukee community to install water filters to protect against lead, the U.S. Council on Competitiveness, A.O. Smith Corporation and Marquette University will release a sector study that reveals challenges faced by water users in the manufacturing sector and discuss how it affects the Milwaukee region. The study also comes weeks after the U.S. Senate passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2016.
The report, Leverage: Water and Manufacturing (which will be released as part of this event) includes recommendations to meet increasing water demand and how to innovate in the areas of infrastructure, technology, investment and talent. This sector study will be shared with the United States President-elect.
