MILWAUKEE — Dr. Mark Eppli, professor of finance and Robert B. Bell Chair in Real Estate, has been elected president of the Real Estate Research Institute, a national nonprofit organization that funds top-tier research on real estate investment performance and market fundamentals for the commercial real estate industry.
Eppli, who directs Marquette's top 10 nationally ranked Center for Real Estate, was also recently named a NAIOP Distinguished Fellow. NAIOP is the leading trade association for commercial real estate professionals. According to NAIOP, "The Distinguished Fellows Program engages the nation's foremost commercial real estate, economic and public policy experts."
"Dr. Eppli represents what's best about Marquette business faculty," said Dr. Brian Till, Keyes Dean of Business Administration. "He's a highly engaged scholar and teacher who lends his deep expertise to the broader academic and business communities. Dr. Eppli is an excellent ambassador for Marquette and the College of Business Administration."
"I am both humbled and excited to take on these new roles," Eppli said. "To be recognized by my peers in these ways, and to represent Marquette and the college at the national level, is truly an honor."
Eppli, who served as interim Keyes Dean of Business Administration from 2012-15, has been on the board of directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago since 2012. He was also recently invited to join the policy-influencing National Association of Home Builder's Mortgage Roundtable, a regularly scheduled, off-the-record meeting where key stakeholders discuss housing, economic development, and mortgage credit.
