What: At 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, Marquette women's basketball coach Carolyn Kieger and student-athlete Natisha Hiedeman will be available for interviews at the Al McGuire Center (770 N. 12th St.) to preview the 2017 BIG EAST women's basketball tournament.
Marquette is hosting this year's tournament, which begins at the Al McGuire Center on Saturday, March 4 and runs through the championship game on Tuesday, March 7.
This is the first time Marquette is hosting the BIG EAST women's tournament. With nine fellow BIG EAST teams and their fans visiting Milwaukee, the tournament is expected to generate nearly $1 million in economic impact in our area, according to an estimate by Visit Milwaukee.
Coach Kieger, a 2006 graduate of Marquette and former women's basketball student-athlete, is in her third year as the Golden Eagles' head coach. The No. 3-seeded Golden Eagles have a first-round bye and will play their first game in the quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sunday. Ticket information for all games is available at gomarquette.com.
Media interested in speaking to Coach Kieger on Thursday should contact Chris Jenkins in the Office of Marketing and Communication at firstname.lastname@example.org or (414) 288-4745.
Media interested in applying for credentials to cover tournament games should contact Megan O'Shea in Marquette's athletic department at email@example.com or (414) 288-7419.
