Advisory: Media registration open for Summit on Poverty/SWIM Conference

President Michael Lovell meeting with the Near Westside PartnersMILWAUKEE — Marquette University and the Social Development Commission will host the 2019 Summit on Poverty/SWIM Conference on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8, at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Registration for media interested in covering the event is open.

The theme of the two-day conference is hope, self-reflection and collective impact. The conference targets community leaders, educators and the general public. Nearly 20 speakers and over 40 workshops are available over the two days, highlighted by keynote speeches from Dr. Shaili Jain, Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, Dr. Monica White and Rev. Dr. William Barber II.
