May 10, 2019

president lovell with 526 pasta studentsMILWAUKEE —Marquette University President Michael R. Lovell will host a pasta dinner during Senior Week called “526 Pasta” Monday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Union Sports Annex, 804 N. 16th St.

At the beginning of the school year, friends Phil Parisi, Chris Malliet and James McKenna, all seniors in the Opus College of Engineering, began hosting pasta dinners every Friday night at the apartment they share. It soon became the group’s goal to meet 526 new people through the get-togethers before graduation. The number 526 reflects the address of the apartment where they hosted the free pasta socials.

To date, the group has tallied just under 350 guests. After attending one of the meals back in April, President Lovell decided to host and cater the group’s final meal as an official Senior Week event. The hope is the event will help the students reach their attendance goal.
