Marquette alumna and noted journalist Nancy Armour to present 2019 Axthelm Lecture

MILWAUKEE — Marquette University’s 25th annual Axthelm Memorial Lecture will feature alumna and USA Today Sports columnist Nancy Armour on Tuesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave. 

At this year's lecture, Armour will discuss how sports journalism is changing with the rise of digital platforms. Armour, who started her career as a sports journalist as a student reporter for the Marquette Tribune, will share how she navigates this new digital terrain.

In 2004, Armour joined USA Today Sports as a national columnist and covered major events such as the Super Bowl, Olympics and World Cup. She has also provided opinion on other major sporting events and news developments, such as the USA Gymnastics sex abuse scandal. Prior to joining USA TodayArmour worked as an Associated Press correspondent for 20 years.
