MILWAUKEE — Rana Altenburg, vice president for public affairs at Marquette University, was elected to serve on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Policy Forum at its 2020 annual meeting Jan. 21 at the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee.
The Wisconsin Policy Forum is a statewide nonpartisan, independent policy research organization with offices in Milwaukee and Madison. It provides informed analysis of critical policy issues affecting local governments, school districts and the state of Wisconsin. The research and facilitation activities encourage elected officials and community leaders to find effective, data-driven solutions to pressing policy challenges, and promote productive discussion among the public and private sectors.
“The Wisconsin Policy Forum has established itself as an asset for the state of Wisconsin in its contributions informed debate in both the public and private sectors,” Altenburg said. “To be involved with the WPF will be a tremendous opportunity for me to represent Marquette University in helping to find effective solutions to pressing policy changes.
Altenburg, who is responsible for Marquette’s governmental initiatives at the federal, state, county and city levels; community relations; university special events; and special projects of strategic importance to the university, is also president of Near West Side Partners, a member of the boards of directors of Business Improvement District No. 10, Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee Development Corp., Seton Catholic Schools, The Wisconsin Group, and a member of TEMPO and The Science Coalition.
